Census 2021

Census day was the 21st of March but it is not too late to complete. If you are struggling to complete yours online, or need a paper questionnaire, a representative from the Census 2021 team will be at The Ark between 10am and 3pm on Tuesday 27th April to help and answer any questions. No need to book an appointment.”

Update from Inspire Libraries

Inspire Culture, Learning and Libraries are a Community Benefit Society delivering libraries, learning, heritage and culture to the people of Nottinghamshire on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.

Inspire Learning offer a wide range of high-quality courses ranging from accredited courses, to study programmes for young people, to community and family learning. Our Spring 2021 programme of community and family learning is entirely online and will allow you to learn something new, explore hobbies and new interests while making new friends, and help you learn techniques to better your mental and physical health. Courses are discounted to all, and FREE to those in receipt of certain benefits.

As a Way2Work partner, we can support you in to further training and employment.

Throughout National Lockdown, Inspire will be offering limited services through our libraries to ensure we support our local community. Seven libraries, including Arnold Library in Gedling will be open for essential PC access to allow you to safely access public services such as benefit claims and job applications. We also recognise that reading is vital to support health and wellbeing so will be providing a click & collect book service.

Tier 4 Restrictions

We are sad to say that the tier 4 restrictions in Nottinghamshire will mean that our service has had to return to telephone, text and email only. At the current time we cannot offer face to face appointments or open our café to the public.

We are, of course, disappointed but we must do what we can for the health of the public, our volunteers and our staff.

We are still contactable on 0115 8599556 and at theark@thearkgedling.org.uk and are happy to help.

Thank you!

Jemma Baldry has ran a mile a day in December to raise money for the Ark. She has been out in all weathers, at all kinds of times and even fell over causing injury to her knee, shoulder and wrist! Jemma has now raised £896 and counting.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and to Jemma for her efforts. We really appreciate your support.

Thank you

Thank you Councillor Muriel Weisz for the donation of £500 to help us purchase technology for the job club.

Anonymous Funding

We want to give a huge thank you to the donors who gave through our just giving page at the end of October! Unfortunately, these donations are not traceable back to the donor and so we cannot say a personal thank you, but whoever you are we are very very grateful for your support.

Thank you,

Joel
